The illustrious Patients' Choice Award honors only a select few physicians each year, and for 2011, Dr. Marco Barusco is once again a recipient.

This prestigious honor was bestowed to Dr. Barusco for the fourth consecutive year (previous honors for the years 2008, 2009 and 2010).
The Patients' Choice Award is bestowed only upon those physicians who receive top scores from their patients and have passed other rigorous requirements. Only five percent of the country's more than 720,000 actively practicing doctors were awarded this year's prize. Far fewer achieve repeated honors in consecutive years, as in the case of Dr. Barusco.
Millions of patients in the United States visit websites such as Vitals (www.vitals.com) to post information about their experience with physicians. A number of aspects of the care patients receive are rated, including the amount of time the doctor spent with the patient, the accuracy of the diagnosis, the bedside manner of the physician and follow up care, if any.
Patients' Choice looks at those variables to rank physicians with the highest reviews, and using other measures of quality, build their annual list.
