Flying Elephant Pub & Grill Shows Thanks by Giving Back during Holiday Season
From Schools to Roller Derby Girls, Carlsbad Restaurant and Entertainment Venue Hosts Local Organizations and Helps Raise Thousands
CARLSBAD, CA, December 02, 2011 /Lifestyle PR News/ -- Since re-launching Flying Elephant Pub & Grill last year, new owners Dave and Molly Anson have been committed to giving back to the community. From school fundraisers and food drives, to silent auctions and raffles, the Carlsbad pub helped contribute thousands to local organizations just during the month of November.
In a Punk Rock Food Drive earlier this month that benefited North County Community Services, North County's Food Bank, Flying Elephant Pub & Grill helped amass 1,050 pounds of food and collect more than $1,200. The contributions, resulting from the raffle, direct donations and t-shirt sales, will allow NCCS to provide nearly 4,500 meals for hungry individuals in North County.
Days later, Flying Elephant Pub & Grill opened its doors to benefit the Jefferson Elementary School PTA in Carlsbad. From open to close, the restaurant donated 20 percent of the day's net sales from those who mentioned the fundraiser, equaling a donation of $600. The pub then hosted the Hidden City Roller Derby Girls fundraiser that brought in several hundred dollars through the sales of baked goods, Harley Davidson gift certificates, t-shirts and other apparel items from contributing companies.
Throughout the year, Flying Elephant Pub & Grill hosts events and private parties for local nonprofits to raise funds. With two private rooms, two stages, a state-of-the-art sound system, and menu specials, the Carlsbad venue is a premier destination for live music and events. In addition to providing the venue and specials, the restaurant donates a minimum of five percent of a day's net sales to the fundraising organization.
Coming up next month, Rich the Stitch will present a comedy show at Flying Elephant Pub & Grill to benefit Toys for Tots. Customers are asked to bring a toy donation to benefit children in need in the community.
