As a field communications specialist of Eddie Bauer LLC, Ms. Velarde is responsible for communicating planning, reference tools and format standards for field intranets and other communication platforms.. She is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution and completion of specific projects, as well as ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. She also works side by side with the training manager to support, develop and implement programs and training materials including facilitator and participant guides, product knowledge tools and e-learning modules. She attributes her success to her flexibility and ability to remain focused on the issue or issues at hand, attributes which were carefully cultivated through years of experience working in the field of store management. Ms. Velarde had the opportunity to bring a web-based training model to the Eddie Bauer field organization. Designed and developed from the ground up, this model equipped over 6000 sales associates with the product knowledge and skills required to successfully sell Eddie Bauer's most innovative and technical outerwear line in a generation, First Ascent.
Ms. Velarde received an associate degree in liberal arts from De Anza College. In addition, she is a Situational Leadership Program Trainer and supports programs through Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Boy Scouts of America. In 2009, she received a Legendary Performer Award and a Best of Bauer Award, both from Eddie Bauer.
