Heidi's holistic path began 12 years ago when, after the unfortunate death of her father to cancer, she decided to put her desire to help those with afflicted bodies into practice via the art of massage therapy. She began her training at the prestigious Swedish Institute in Manhattan and after completing her intense training, Heidi attained her massage therapy license from the state of New York.
In the first three years of practice, Heidi worked at several different locations combining both medical and relaxation type massages at chiropractors' offices and different day spas. This allowed her to achieve diverse experiences and explore the great healing potential of massage therapy while gaining a greater understanding of both western and old world eastern techniques and beliefs.
For the last nine years, Heidi has been fine tuning her techniques at her present job as senior massage therapist at Börte Salon & Day Sp, located in East Northport, Long Island. There, she is incorporating all the techniques she has learned over the years such as Swedish Trigger Point Therapy, Pregnancy, Hot Stone, CranioSacral Therapy, Reflexology, Shaitsu, Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release, Infant Massage, as well as body treatments ideal for detoxing the body. Along with patient care, her responsibilities include maintaining client databases and promoting business through various types of marketing campaigns.
What sets Heidi apart from other therapists is her ability to listen to her clients needs with compassion and understanding. After analyzing her client's complaints, she incorporates the best treatment strategy to provide relief from pain and discomfort. Once the major discomfort is relieved, the body can be treated as a whole and balance is restored within the body. Heidi also volunteers her time at the New York College in Syosset, NY.
In addition to Heidi's passion for massage therapy, she (like most women) has attained a love of jewelry! Wanting to incorporate both of these passions, she has founded and maintained two online jewelry websites for the last five years. In true Heidi fashion, the jewelry line she carries has a conscience. It is dedicated to promoting good karma and energy to those who wear it.
